Ruislip Baptist Church

Pastoral Care

Mary Willis

Mary Willis, Pastoral Care Co-ordinator

As a church family, Ruislip Baptist Church is committed to caring for people.  We are concerned for people who come to the church regularly, those who used to come but through illness or old age are unable to come anymore, people who come to the church during the week for help and people within the community around us.   A lot of the pastoral care of the church actually takes place through the friendships that develop on a Sunday and during the week as we seek to be a family to one another, particularly through the small groups.

Our full-time Pastoral Co-ordinator plays a major role in how we as a church offer care to people through support, visiting and in practical ways. However, the pastoral care is shared by the whole church.

We also have a group of Pastoral Assistants - a committed group of volunteers who play a vital role in visiting older members of the congregation, those who are sick in hospital, or people with other needs.  Alongside the visits of the Ministers and Pastoral Co-ordinator this group tries to ensure that those who are unable to come to church still feel part of the church family and supports those with pastoral concerns.

Prayer team - after the services on a Sunday there is an opportunity for people to meet with a member of the team to pray.

Pastoral care is part of being in God’s family and his world. It is an expression of God’s love and care. It is for all ages, and all stages of life.
