Worship services
We have two main worship services a week, on Sundays at 11am and 6.30pm. Anyone is welcome to come and join us to worship God together or to find out a bit more about us at RBC.
Both services include times of worship by singing, prayer, and listening to God’s Word together as the Bible is read and preached. The sermons are also available as electronic downloads from here.
The services are usually led by our ministers, but many other people are also involved. A range of songs are used, from traditional hymns to more contemporary songs, led by a group of musicians. The style is a mix of formal and informal.
We regularly remember Christ’s death for us by sharing in a communion service, and celebrate the baptism of believers as this is requested.
A loop system operates for those with hearing difficulties. The church building has ready access for wheelchair users.

The morning worship service includes a crèche and a range of children’s and youth groups that run simultaneously with the service. These are also open to any visitors. We have a large and lively children’s and youth ministry, with many families in the church fellowship. The congregation in the morning is all-age, from 0 to 90!
The evening worship service includes similar opportunities for praise, prayer and teaching. Refreshments are served afterwards.
Prayer ministry is also available after both services.
Pastoral Care
As a church family,
Our full-time Pastoral Co-ordinator plays a major role in how we as a church offer care to people through support, visiting and in practical ways. However, the pastoral care is shared by the whole church.
We also have a group of Pastoral Assistants - a committed group of volunteers who play a vital role in visiting older members of the congregation, those who are sick in hospital, or people with other needs. Alongside the visits of the Ministers and Pastoral Co-ordinator this group tries to ensure that those who are unable to come to church still feel part of the church family and supports those with pastoral concerns.
Prayer team - after the services on a Sunday there is an opportunity for people to meet with a member of the team to pray.
Pastoral care is part of being in God’s family and his world. It is an expression of God’s love and care. It is for all ages, and all stages of life.
If you would like to talk with someone or we can help, please contact the church office.

Mission
What is our mission?
Our mission as a local church is summarised in our mission statement:
Building a vibrant, Christ-centred community with a vision for extending His Kingdom.
We see this mission as one based in our local community, through the church, but much more than just local mission. It includes supporting the spread of God’s kingdom across the world.
This support is shown in prayer, with finance, in practical support, through exchanges and visits, through regular communications, and also particularly by sending people. We support several people and agencies involved in mission, which includes a wide range of activities spread around the world.
Why engage in mission?
Our God is a missionary God! He sent his Son to save us and to reveal our loving, awesome Father. He sends us to share the good news of life in Christ and a message of hope, justice, freedom. The mission might focus on church planting, evangelism or Bible translation, or might be in the areas of training and education, medicine or healthcare, disaster relief, humanitarian aid, or literacy programmes, for example.
Jesus’ last words in Matthew’s Gospel were his missionary command, the ‘Great Commission’: Mt. 28:19-20
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Jesus also gave the Great Commandment: Mt. 22:37-40
37 … “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
We support mission because this expresses Jesus’ priority, his agenda, his love for all people everywhere. God’s love is such that he wants people to hear the gospel. His love is also shown wherever his message of hope, justice, freedom is shared, whether it is with people in the

In the broadest sense I am in
I was brought up in a family where the name of the Lord was loved and honoured and so I grew up knowing the Lord. I cannot remember when I first heard His call and committed my life to Him but I was eleven years old when I believe I first heard the Lord's call to me to be a missionary. I am grateful to Him that the call, and enabling, to follow Him, to commit to Him and (eventually) to serve Him overseas, continue to today. I worked in archaeology for three years before going to university for the first time. I studied biology in

I also enjoy working with many different Malian partner organisations to promote and enable the use of Malian languages in all areas of society.
Simon Tulett spent six months from January 2008 with Christians in Sport with their Academy programme. Simon worked in schools and community youth projects in sports-based activities, making Jesus known through the world of sport. He also led youth Bible studies, was involved in schools sports clubs, and as part of the Academy spent time receiving Bible teaching and how to lead others in studying the Bible.
