What is Alpha?
Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. We run this event each autumn.
It is low-key, friendly and fun. Every evening there is a hot meal, a talk and time for discussion. There is no pressure on individuals to contribute, just sitting and listening to others views and experiences is absolutely fine. Last year an average of over 80 attended every week and ages ranged from mid-teens to 80’s!
People come to Alpha for a variety of reasons - some want to investigate whether God exists; others are concerned about what happens after death. Some people have particular questions that they would like to discuss; others want to understand other people's beliefs or would like to explore what the purpose of life is. Our next course will begin on Monday 7th January 2013, to which anyone would be very welcome. This starts with a celebation supper.
The celebration supper is free, as is the rest of the course. You are very warmly invited to come along to this evening, which will include a meal, musical entertainment, and an introduction to the course.
The subsequent Alpha course runs on 10 Monday evenings, but attending the celebration supper does not commit you to come on the course. Every evening is very relaxed, informal and we hope enjoyable for all, and includes a hot meal, a talk, and time in discussion groups.
